Botanical Name: Citrus aurantifolia (Christm.) Swingle. Citrus medica L.var.acida (Roxb.) Hook.f.
Description: The Lime is a small tree, crooked and prickly, with a height of 8 feet. The leaves are ovate oblong. The flowers are small and white and the fruit about half the size of a lemon, with a smoother, thinner rind, having a greenish tinge in its yellow.
Chemical Constituents: The main constituents in the distilled lime oil, like the one we sell is a-pinene, b-pinene, myrcene, limonene, terpinolene, 1,8-ceneole, linalool, borneol, citral and traces of neral acetate and geranyl acetate.
Description: Lime is an antiseptic, antiviral, astringent, bactericidal, disinfectant, haemostatic, restorative and tonic. Lime oil can help to rehydrate the skin around the eyes, creating more radiant skin. In facial cleansers and moisturizers, lime oil can help reduce acne and oily skin, creating a clearer, more even skin tone. Lime oil is used as anti-aging, helping reduce fine lines, wrinkles, sun spots, and other visible signs of aging. Citrus aurantifolia’s, or lime oil’s, cleansing properties make it effective at treating congested skin, better known as clogged pores.
