Description: Garlic is a bulbous perennial plant growing up to 1 meter in height. It grows from an underground bulb which sends shoots up in the air. Garlic bulb is divided into papery white cloves.

Properties: Garlic is used to treat bronchitis, allergies and asthma by helping to open the lungs and ease breathing. Garlic contains substances that discourage platelets from sticking together and prevent blood clots, helping to naturally thin the blood. They also lower total cholesterol and triglycerides all the while increasing HDL, "good cholesterol". Garlic may also lower blood-sugar levels in people with diabetes.
